Vegas Hockey Is Better Than LA Hockey

If you don’t know, the LA Kings & Colorado Avalanche have an annual preseason hockey game in Las Vegas.  I ALWAYS go and this year had the honor of designing the event logo.  You have to try and go to this if you’ve never been.  It’s definitely an experience.   Here’s my take on the Frozen Fury logo.

Fake Jerseys, Real Heads?

When a pro sports team gets a big name player, either through trade or free agency, they usually want a picture of that said player (or players) in the team jersey. All the players heads have been photoshopped and blended to match another players body, along with new numbers and peripherals. Sometimes these can look pretty fake, or sometimes very scarily real (I think I just made up a word… “Scarily”).

What Really Makes A Lead Image

One of my many duties at the LA Kings is to keep the site fresh.  A huge trick is to constantly change the lead images.  Usually this is a fairly simple task where you just search for a picture, size it and throw one up.  With some down time though it allows me to be more creative.  The other day I was playing around with some effect and used it on one of my leads.  The result… my favorite lead image I have done to date.  Check it below…
